We are Molly Lamb and Jared Leeds, a husband and wife partnership with a documentary/photojournalistic background. We are both award-winning photographers with years of experience working for newspapers, magazines, commercial clients and non-profit organizations.

We complement each other well in that we both enjoy photographing people when we are able to blend into the surroundings and let things happen as they normally would. In this way we are able to record the most genuine interactions between people. Not all situations call for both of us to be photographing simultaneously, but when these situations arise, we are able to seamlessly collaborate to cover all aspects of the event because we communicate well. Two sets of eyes enables us to pay closer attention to detail and to be in multiple places at one time.

We decided to start Porchlight Photography because we see a place for strong documentary images in the world of family-oriented photography. The name Porchlight came to us because it evokes an inviting sense of home and family. We provide an alternative to the traditional way of photographing weddings and the formal, posed, family portrait by capturing the personality of each individual and how family members interact with each other. Our photographs give an authentic glimpse into a family’s life to share with friends and future generations.
